My first time in San Miguel de Allende was in 1981, while driving to Patzcuaro, Michoacán from California. It was just an overnight fun time but created such a memory it resulted in my future relocation, after nearly 40 years in Hawaii.

Relocating from Hawaii with Sidnie my wife, Ipo (our Friesian/Arab horse) and a very large fur baby dog, Bella (a Rhodesian/Pitbull) plus a container full of art and valuables was no easy task. It was learn as you go! Our first year in San Miguel de Allende was amazing and challenging, getting our residency, opening bank accounts, finding doctors, buying cars, buying a house in the country, getting insurance, moving money from the US, I even had to renew my passport. Many things to learn especially the wonderful Mexican culture and language. The Mexican people are warm, helpful, patient and understanding. All I can say is no regrets! It would be my pleasure to share with you what I have learned during my relocation and adjustment to life in San Miguel de Allende.
